0004 - Gamera Vs Barugon

These are great collectors' items, as they have never been released commercially on DVD or even rebroadcast! However, please note that the quality of these episodes varies due to the original source and is usually not as good as seasons 1 - 10. If you are new to MST3K, rather than a collector, we recommend purchasing an episode from another season.

AKA: Daikaijû kessen: Gamera tai Barugon

Movie Plot: Japanese monsters Gamera and Barugon fight each other. More... After a treacherous expedition to retrieve a giant opal, disaster strikes as the opal reveals itself to be an egg which spawns Barugon, demon dog from Hell! Armed with a deadly tongue and cold beams, Barugon wreaks havoc on Japan. Gamera comes to save the day.

Intro: Joel explains the show's premise and plays a phone message from a viewer.
Segment One: Joel plays more phone messages, some asking for more of the show and another asking them to show the movies unriffed.
Segment Two: A caller asks for more "chapstick" (a mispronounciation of "slapstick"), so Joel and the 'bots promise to use more "chapstick" on the show.
Segment Three: Crow gives a hygiene lesson.
Segment Four: Servo and Crow make prank phone calls.

NOTE: This episode is the first MST3K episode that is available. No fan copies of K00 through K03 are known to exist. This movie was riffed again, however, when it aired nationally (see episode 304).

BTW: This is the only film in the series to not feature a child as the main human character.
